What scientists can agree on, however, is that goal orientation and adaptability to different environments are crucial. Today's deep-learning systems are still very limited, as they are essentially skill programs being trained on large amounts of data. To measure intelligence, we need other benchmarks, ones that focus on generalization and skill-acquisition efficiency.
